Greens you CAN’T Taste……
When I find a product that I am excited about I feel that it is literally my duty to share my knowledge with the world. There are so many companies that claim that their products are healthy, and there isn’t anything hidden, but if you do your due diligence and decipher the labels they are packed with things that you just shouldn’t be putting into your body. Zero calorie sweeteners are one of the biggest issues floating around out there in proclaimed healthy foods, so I am very picky about what we consume if it contains a zero-calorie sweetener.
Today’s big share was for my littlest little. She is a pretty picky eater and so getting enough of the “good stuff” into her is really difficult. And I can’t lie, as much as I love my greens, and super foods, there are just times where the day passes me by and I have missed it all. Or I need a super boost in the morning to get me going. While I am all about green smoothies, and don’t mind the “Green taste”, she is not ok with it. So, for months I have been on the hunt for a chocolate flavored super greens powder that I can use to help supplement her picky eater diet. Most of them have some funky zero calorie sweetener, carrageenan, or some weird preservatives. Or their price is so high that it just doesn’t work into the budget. Then I found the mother lode!
I would like to introduce you to Country Farm’s Chocolate Super Greens. First, there is nothing funky in here. No Carrageenan and no dangerous zero calorie sweeteners. This powder is sweetened with Stevia. Second, it doesn’t taste green. Not even a little bit! At first, I could taste the mushrooms a little bit, but now there isn’t anything but purely delicious chocolate. And third, my little loves it! She is crazy about this stuff. You know, if my mom would have had something like this to give me in place of Instant Breakfast my nutritional well being as a child would have been so much better. Oh, and last, but not least, it is moderately priced, so you won’t break the bank. And you have a ton of buying options like Wal-Mart and Amazon.
Wait until you read what is in this “magic” powder…..

Are you in love yet? Now just wait until you try the shake that I am going to give you the recipe for. I am calling it a smoothie though. The reason is because more people feel healthy drinking a “smoothie”, but not a shake. Kind of like a muffin vs a cupcake. But this truly does have the consistency, and taste of a chocolate shake, but there isn’t any reason to feel any guilt. The calories and protein depend on the plant milk you use. If you are using this as a post workout/meal replacement shake use high protein nut milk. (I used Silk) If you are just looking for a snack you can dial back the calories with some unsweetened almond or cashew milk. No matter which one you choose, blend it up, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
Have you tried chocolate greens?
Super Greens Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie
By Angie Gouchenour
2 cups plant-based milk (I used Silk Protein Nut Milk)
2 scoops Country Farms Chocolate Super Greens
¼ cup powdered peanut butter
1 ¼ cup frozen banana slices (one large banana)
1 cup of ice
2 teaspoons chia seeds (use white chia and you won’t have to worry about them showing up in your teeth)
In a blender, blend together the milk, chocolate greens, powdered peanut butter, frozen banana, and ice until smooth
(It will be the consistency of an ice cream shake)
Stir in the chia seeds (This helps to keep the gel intact)
The products were provided to me by Country Farms for free for my honest opinion. All the thoughts are my own, and I only share products that I truly love and trust.
