New Year’s Eve……
This is it! This is the last post of the year. First, I just want to thank all of you who have joined me this year, and those who have been with me from the beginning. I appreciate every single comment, share, like, and view that everyone has done which has moved my blog forward, and given me a reason to keep producing content that I hope each, and every, one of my readers will love. Without all of you there wouldn’t be a reason for me to continue creating recipes, and sharing them with a blank void. So, keep reading, and I will keep writing. Keep cooking, and I will keep creating recipes. 😉
When I was in my early twenties, one of my favorite drinks when I would go out was a Captain Morgan and Coke with a twist of lime. In my thirties I stopped drinking soda (pop? A whole new debate.), so I quit drinking mixed drinks that contained Coke, 7-Up, or any other carbonated drink. Lately I had been thinking about having a Captain Morgan and Coke, but I just couldn’t. So, when I was asked by a fellow blogger to share in a collaboration post with her, (And you have to check out her sweet Cinnamon Buns at My Southern Sweet Tooth.) I decided that I was going to try and think up some sort of drink for New Year’s Eve. After racking my brain, I decided to put my own spin on my old favorite and share it with everyone else who might just love it, too.
I decided to swap out the Coke for Live Kombucha instead. You still have the fizz, and the flavor, but less sugar, and it is filled with probiotics. I will let you in on a little secret, probiotics actually help to break down, and metabolize alcohol, so if you are planning on drinking more then just a couple of drinks the probiotics will help to fend off a possibly impending hangover. This could make your next day much easier, and headache free. 😉 And instead of making these full drinks, I thought I would just make them into shooters. Why not, right? And while there is a twist of lime on the rim, I also added lime juice to the actual mix to kick it up a notch.
Now that you can totally get your party started I am going to let you do just that. I want to wish you a happy new year, and I look forward to running full force into 2018 with you. Thank you for all your support in 2017, you make my blog worth writing. Stay safe, have fun, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
