Monday Magic….
If your Monday is starting out anything like mine is you are going to want to stop at the store today so you can take the edge off tonight. For some reason, I woke up at 2:00 am this morning. I don’t know why it was so hot. The fan was on, the AC is on, but it was just super hot. I tossed and turned for two hours and finally went and laid down on the couch just to cool off. I should have just stayed up, but I didn’t and I fell asleep about fifteen minutes before my alarm went off at 5:00 am. I can tell you already that today is going to be a very long day.
Today’s recipe is a take on one of my favorite shots, and a collaboration with my husband. I was talking about making brownies using Jägermeister and he told me about a shot that he drank years ago that had Jager, Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlua, and chocolate syrup. I can’t find it anywhere. But I took that idea and ran with it, and that is how we have our new recipe for a single serve boozy brownie. After baking most foods keep 5-85% of the alcohol content, depending on the cooking time. This cake only cooks for 60 seconds so it’s right up there at almost 100%. 😉 And it is single serve so it is all yours.
The simplicity of this brownie is insane. And the powdered sugar and Bailey’s drizzle puts it over the top. The taste is mild, but you can taste the undertones. Even if you aren’t a licorice fan, I absolutely am not, the Jägermeister is the flavor that brings the blend all together. The amount of alcohol in the brownie equals about one shot, so you aren’t going to get plowed on a Monday. 😊 You can buy a mini bottle of each, and either make several brownies, or pour the leftovers over ice and just sip on it. It is one of the most relaxing, and satisfying, adult drinks you will come across. Let your day melt away, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
