With the impending storm we have coming our way from Texas this week we decided to go for a hike yesterday afternoon and enjoy the beautiful sunny day before we get dumped on again. We drove about 20 minutes from home to Bone Lick National Park here in Kentucky and it appeared that a lot of other people had the same idea as us. There were quite a few families having picnics, and then of course there were the people who decided to spend the afternoon fishing. It was just perfect weather, and the woods, and lake, were so peaceful.
I kind of felt bad for the people that were trying to fish in peace because our 3 and 4-year-old were so excited about being out in nature they talked nonstop “oohing” and “awing” over every single flower, bush, rock, stick, butterfly, bug…… It was making me laugh because nothing pleases me more than when my kids are enjoying themselves. But I have to admit that they were breaking some fishing etiquette rules just by being noisy. We tried to keep their roar to a minimum, but people were kind enough to nod and smile understanding that sometimes excitement just can’t be contained.
Last night was pizza night, and having been gone a good portion of the day my fruit, and veggie, intake was pretty low. After dinner I decided that I would give a sample of Basic Greens, that I got in the mail, a try. I have tried several green powders, and I have to say this one is superior to anything that I have tried. After tasting it I decided that every now and then I will write a review on samples that I get, or foods that I buy, if they are really outstanding. I wasn’t asked to review this product, but am taking it upon myself to do so.
To me these greens tasted just like spearmint. It wasn’t gritty, it didn’t taste like drinking juiced grass, it actually had a dessert quality flavor. There are 15 servings of fruits and veggies in one scoop! I also loved the fact that there were ingredients like spirulina, chlorella, green tea, and probiotics. I am definitely going to be buying a box in the near future for days just like yesterday. If you want to get your own free sample you can go here. You don’t have to give a phone number, or any credit card information, and it only takes a couple of days to arrive! I don’t know about you, but nothing tastes better to me that FREE! 😉 Let me know what you think!
When was the last time you went hiking? Where did you go?
Do you take any daily greens? What kind is your favorite?
I’ve decided to start writing reviews on samples that I get, and products that I buy, every once in a while. I am not being compensated for my views, and the opinions are my own.
